Hello
Hello, my name is Victor, but you can call me Vic. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. Helping others is my passion, and I genuinely enjoy doing it. At the end of each day, I want to feel like I have positively impacted this world. Currently, I am trying to enjoy life to the fullest. I must admit that I'm a bit of a nerd. I love collecting things from the '70s to the early 2000s. Right now, I'm on the lookout for VHS tapes and a good RCA vintage television set. If you come across any of these, please let me know. 📼📺
My Story
Hello again! Let me tell you a bit more about myself. I have worked in the mental health field for 15 years at the community mental health agency and health plan levels. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Phoenix and my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the same university.
As a Licensed Associate Counselor, I am proud to own Bright Minds Counseling & Consulting. I understand that we all face life struggles, and we may not know how to best deal with them during those times.
I remember being 18 years old and scared, wondering how to tell my parents that I was going to be a father. I was terrified to tell my father because he was no pushover. I also had gut-wrenching feelings of fear about how I would support a family. Years later, I realized that the problem wasn't having to tell my parents or figure out how to be a good father. I could not communicate my feelings, ask for help, and be honest about what was going through my mind. Irrational thoughts filled my mind, making me feel sick with fear and becoming reactive instead of responsive.

I grew up in a particular and traditional manner, where I was expected to do as I was told without question. I was missing a few tools on my tool belt to handle fatherhood at such a young age. That's why I'm here for you. We can work as a team to find out what "tools" you need for the job. I believe that the most important and influential part of the therapeutic journey is the relationship that develops between therapist and client.
I will always strive to create an environment for you that is free of judgment and full of patience, compassion, and understanding. You deserve a genuine experience where your journey is the main focus, and I am lucky to be your passenger.

I use an eclectic approach to treatment, utilizing approaches such as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), Choice Theory, and, above all, operate from a trauma-informed care approach.
It would be my pleasure and honor to participate in your therapeutic journey.
